After our recent stay at The Lakehouse, I think I’ve become a HUGE fan of staycations. You get all the fun adventure of trying a new hotel, without any of the travel stress! This spot turned out to be the ideal San Diego vacation, since it was just 40 minutes away from our downtown apartment! The property, which was recently renovated, had impeccable branding and design – I just loved their use of outdoors motifs and yellow adirondack chairs everywhere!
The best part of our stay was the perks that come with the property! Upon check-in, you receive a s’mores pack to be used at any of their fire pits, which was the perfect cozy end-of-night activity. You also get a little card listing the other benefits, which include a one hour kayak or paddleboard session each day, a free bucket of balls at the neighboring golf course, and extended happy hour at their restaurant! Their restaurant, Decoy Dockside was another great amenity since it sits right on the lake, and you have the choice of their upstairs “finer” dining area, or the more casual Dockside bar downstairs.. They even have a nightly water show on the lake that projects scenes onto the water (similar to World of Color if you’ve been to California Adventures!)
If you’re in the area or looking for a little getaway, I would highly recommend visiting The Lakehouse. It’s a quaint staycation away from the city, and provides the perfect setting to relax and have a little downtime!
